Île aux Pommes is located in the middle of the Lower St. Lawrence Estuary, near the entrance of the Saguenay River, in the very heart of the most important migration corridor in northeastern America, making it a privileged oasis for bird life.

Popular migratory stopover and other bird species

Migratory stopovers such as Île aux Pommes and its habitat, now rich in small fruits, insects, seeds and vegetative cover providing adequate protection, are essential places for some species on their long journey. The protection of these areas is a key issue for the survival of these species.

Needless to say, life on Île aux Pommes is beautiful and pleasant under these conditions. There are delicious fruits, pretty flowers, the view of a magnificent panorama - you can see seven church steeples, - an incomparable water landscape. And there are also birds: birds of all kinds, seabirds and strike birds, which make a fairly long stay there.
